"... to promote a balanced, healthy and sustainable approach to minimising our exposure to hormone disruptors through intentional lifestyle choices."
Karen’s Story
Karen began her journey to intentionally reduce her exposure to hormone disruptors after she had been diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ, following a mammogram.
She was successfully treated through surgery and radiotherapy treatment, but what it did reveal to her was a general lack of knowledge and awareness around hormonal imbalance issues.
Karen states: “It's an open secret that for many years large corporations have put profit ahead of our best interests when it comes to wellbeing, beauty and haircare.
This has particularly been the case for products that have been targeted for those from African and Caribbean communities.
We've either been ignored and completely unseen. Or, there has been a lack of care and many products have caused us harm.
I want to take back my power and help others to reclaim theirs when it comes to the wellbeing, beauty and haircare agenda.
We just can't carry on accepting products which are full of harmful toxins, cause inflammation in our bodies and completely knock our hormones out of balance.
We've got options to create and to choose where we spend our hard-earned money.
This is why Guinep exists.
